I dont know what happened. The volumn control is missing. When I go to the Sounds and audo divices properties, it says no audo device. The "place icon in the taskbar" is all grayed in and not changable.I need help. I can't hear anything on you tube etc.

dirtracen99, welcome to Bleeping Computer.

For whatever reason, the sound drivers are possibly missing.
You'll have to install the drivers. If you need help with finding the correct drivers,
please post the name of your sound device.

Did you check device manager for missing drivers? or maybe it is disabled from device manager and Bios.

To access control panel. Right-click My computer select properties. Click hardware, and then click device manager. If you have any yellow marks beside sound that means your driver are missing. Right-click yellow mark and select update driver. If you’re lucky the driver will be found. If the drivers are not found then you need to download it from manufacture website. Good luck

I had an issue very similar to this a while back...The problem was a conflict with the "Plug and Play System Device Enumerator"...Go to the Device Manager...Click on the View Tab...Click on Show Hidden Devices...Cursor down to System Devices and Click on "+" to expand...Look for Plug and Play System Device Enumerator...There should only be one there. If there isn't one or it has a conflict then that is most likely the cause of your issue. At any rate post back here with what you find...It may not be hopeless yet...
Does this look like an OldGrumpyBastard or what?
