This problem is occuring on my wife's machine. It has been doing this for a couple of weeks now.

XP Home - SP2, IE6

What's happening is, about half the time after closing out IE6 the "old familiar" IE has encountered a problem and needs to close message appears on her desktop. No problems at all while using IE6, just this annoying message appearing after shutting down.

There doesn't seem to be any particular site(s) she browses that are common to this occurance.

Thanks, Keith

Have you seen this Microsoft article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=888092?

Does it apply to your specific problem?

No I hadn't seen that article. I'll sort through it and see if I can find an answer. I'll post back here as to how I fare with it.

Thanks, Keith

Ok, I couldn't find anything in the article that would resolve my problem. But I really appreciate your input though.

The problem has actually escalated to the point where it does it everytime my wife shuts down IE6. Maybe this additional information will help - she mostly uses her Yahoo email and on-line games when she is on the computer.

Thanks, Keith
