You could also burn them to CD's but that will require more than a few, LOL.

For others just type external hard drive in a search engine and go from there. The size that you need will depend upon the size of the files that you want to transfer. Probably a small drive would do you well if that is all you are going to save is pictures and music files. If you plan on saving more program files or data files then you would probably be better off with a larger one. I have a smallish 40GB Seagate external and have yet to fill it.

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

Choose Manage.
When Computer Management opens, click on Device Manager on the left.
Then choose Disk Drives, you'll see a string of letters and numbers which indicate the
maker of the drive and the model number. The size will be a part of the model number-ex. 120
will indicate a 120gb drive.
OR
2) Run Belarc Advisor. You'll get all kinds of info about your computer, including the size of the drive.

When you wipe your drive, you'll need the OS key. If for some reason you can't find the key,
you can get it from Belarc, under Software Licenses.

An external drive or an enclosure. With an enclosure, you will have to purchase another hard drive to put in it. It all depends on what you want to do and your budget.
Check prices-if budget is a concern, go with the most cost-effective option.
