Looking for a simple program that will display and allow capture of the signal from a USB camera (actually a microscope camera). I don't want or need it to interface with any IM program, I don't need it to allow viewing over the internet, I don't need it to automatically snap pictures at intervals, I don't need it to detect motion, ect. I'd like it to be freeware.

Any suggestions?

Perhaps I'm blind, but I don't see where VLC can input from a local USB camera. Looks to me like just another file viewer.

I believe it's either 'network stream' or 'capture device'
I will look on my other machine later and post back.
