I am running a MSI P35 Platinum motherboard, with an Intel E8400 CPU and 4GB DDR2-1000 / PC@-8000 RAM. a Corsair 500W power supply. Windows XP Sp-2. When I turn the computer on all 4 LEDs glow RED and the unit shuts down; after about 1 second, before I can reach for the power off button, the unit starts up and behaves normally. I am afraid to keep operating this way; it might ruin the CPU. Any suggestions? please?

From the MSI website.
http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=pr...o=&cat3_no=
now whether that applies after the initial (very first time) boot up i don't know.

Thanks for the answer, however, I can't understand why it would have to rest each start up. you'd think once its reset with the new CPU, that would suffice. Maybe someone else has ideas.
Again Thanks/Cheers

I'd check the Control Panel connections (case to motherboard) first, then my next suspect would be the PS.
