This is a scsi system right? If so you should be able to use the 160 GB with no problem

If it does not support the full 160gb, partition it into 2 drives (example 120gb/40gb). You may run into a 137gb max on the older system. Besides you should have a second drive/partition for your data in case you have to clean install. You would not want to lose your MP3s or pictures would you. Just a thought.
