hallllo, i love to chat but they had block it.wawawa i cant' chat ...can any one help me ? can i chat using other port ?......if yes, how?
.......how to scan the port/ router?wich is better scan from outsude or inside?

Is this a home network or work (corporate) ?

em...ok... i stay at collage..... so i think this is a corporate network.
i luv 2 use yahoo messenger. sory i'm not suare what type of router we use. Does any tips to know that?

Well depending on rules and terms of service at your uni I would guess that the admins have blocked those ports for security reasons. See if you can talk to the IT department. For an online scan of the network try this site:

If you know your gateway you can scan the router from inside the network, but I'm not going to go into that here. (there are legal issues with port scanning) . Best advice..talk to the IT dept.

A local college was invaded through an IRC port, and the server was hijacked and used to send spam. They were locked out of the local email services as a result, not to mention they almost lost their internet service. The IT department locked down ALL ports for a month, then opened the bare minimum to allow the college email service to function. If your college suffered a similar incident, you are not likely to get a channel.

Besides, Yahoo doesn't like to give out it's settings information, so finding a way to reset the ports in the program/service would be a real bear.

Routers require physical access to perform a hard reset (back to default settings).

your router shouldn't have ant effect on this unless they've blocked the servers
