I am running XP SP2 Fire Fox and IE 7 The videos play fine but I get no sound. If Windows media player is embedded it works fine but the websites that use flash (like youtube) there is no sound. I have tried uninstalling flash but it's no help. Any ideas? Thanks for your help pafindr |

If you're using both browsers, you need different versions of Flash. Firefox will auto detect it but you still have to install Flash 9 to use it on IE. They'll show up as seperate entries in add/remove programs.

When I installed Fire Fox it asked me for the plug in and I installed it. It's the latest version of Flash so what version am I supposed to be using?

Since this problem is happening on both browsers, Flash isn't the problem. There's something else wrong. It could be anything.

hmmm. Any other player works fine (WMA).
I went to the flash website and it looks like A LOT of people are having the same issue after upgrade to the latest flash. None one is getting answers though. Thanks anyway pafindr |

The issue most folks are having is they're not uninstalling the old version of Flash before installing the new version. And that would be on IE only and doesn't affect Firefox. Since you're having problems with both browsers, there's something else going on. You're not giving enough info to determine the problem. It may not be a problem with Flash. Many websites don't use Flash. Post a link of what you're trying to watch and I'll look at it.

I've tried watching different videos on youtube, such as;

I've also tried videos on different website that link to youtube, such as; www.wayofthemasterradio.com I tried going to the Windows DivX and play the video on the site but there is no sound either. http://www.divx.com/connected/?crefid=divxcom03-swpip-20 What info do you need so I can get this fixed? All those videos played fine for me. And Divx has nothing to do with Windows or Microsoft. It's another media player that uses Flash. I suggest you watch a video at something other than Youtube or a Youtube leech. For example, try watching something at Daily Motion or Yahoo Video or anything but Youtube.

It's like I said before. I don't believe this is a Flash problem but possibly a codec problem. Since you've tried various things with Flash, you should start looking at that.

I tried installing a few different codec but it hasn't helped. The ones I've tried so far are: On2 VP6 codec On2 VP7 codec Media Player Codec Pack 3.1 XviD Video Codec 1.1.2 Windows Essentials Media Codec Pack 1 What should I try now? Thanks pafindr |
