I just purchased a sony vaio laptop and it did not come with a vista recovery disk. I would like to make one. It looks like you can use the Complete PC Backup and Restore function in Vista. My question is - does this disk function as a boot disk as well as a recovery disk? I have read in this forum that you need to perform the restore process from within the Windows Recovery Enviornment. Do I need to make a separate disk to achieve this? I am going to downgrade to Windows XP but I want to make sure that I have an upgrade path available back to Vista. Any comments are welcome.
