When I copy an html address from the address bar and paste it in an email message, how do I set Outlook to automatically treat it as a hyperlink?

Here's the story. New job. New computer. Outlook on the old computer at the old job would treat such a cut and paste from the address bar to the body of a mail message as a hyperlink. New computer at the new job does not. I assume that there is a box I must check on the options menu or something like that. Any ideas? Thanks!
