What happen after you selected to skip the file? Did you buy this 98 CD new or used?

Have you checked Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections tab? Is your ISP listed? dry.gif

You have to install your AOL software or who ever your ISP is.

Do you have the CD?

Otherwise search AOL for the software to install. dry.gif

16 colors how do you manage to use it with that?

When I do a rebuild I only have 16 colors but as soon as I install the graphics drivers I have them all. 16 colors, 256 colors, High Color (16 bit) and High Color (32 bit). NVIDIA GForce2 MX/MX 400.

You need to update your graphics card drivers. Right-click on My Computer select Properties and Device Manger. Click on Display adapters and write down the full name that it listed. Then you do a web search for drivers, preferably of the manufacturer. dry.gif

Well Kenny that means you don't have a descent graphics card fitted so you're going to be struggling.

Go back to Device Manager and Display adapter. Double-click on Standard PCI Graphics Adaptor {VGA}. Click on the Driver tab and click on Update driver, click Next. Click on Display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want, click Next. It should list Standard PCI Graphics Adaptor {VGA} in the Models, click on Show all hardware. At the top of the Manufacturers list is (Standard Display Types). In the Models list you should see your graphics adaptor, select the bottom one Super VGA and click Next. Now you maybe asked to insert the Win98SE CD, just insert it and press the button.

Now this Super VGA may give you more colours or it may not. Anyway if this doesn't work then you need a new/another graphics card. It must be compatable with Win98SE and lot of new cards aren't. My graphics card packed up six months again and all the cards at my local computer builder weren't 98 compatable. He had an old NVIDIA GForce2 MX/MX 400 card which I downloaded the driver of NVIDIA, that only cost £5. Search eBay. dry.gif

30 days that’s ridicules, don't they want you business?

I would find another ISP if I were you, I've heard of problems with AOL. dry.gif
