Fatal Error... Assertion Failed (null)

Hi

I have been trying to get a game going that I have loaded into my pc for my daughter but when I try and start/open up the game I get a dialog box appear with FATAL ERROR.... assertion failed (null). What is this?. Game seemed to load ok ,game ok to use on my system etc. Anybody have any ideas what the problem could be?

Perhaps if you provided more detailed information someone here in the forum may be able to help you:

What game?
What is the operating system (OS) on the computer that can't load the game?
What OS is your computer that game runs ok on?
