Hi Group,
JUST joined and got a problem with Yahoo IM program;we have Windows XP with Firefox browser. Our problems BEGAN when we took the 9.0 beta Yahoo IM update, the USB phone port constantly loads and unloads and no functions on our computer i.e. email or even playing a cd works as it should.WE have since UNINSTALLED the beta 9 IM program but the US phone port still constantly loads and unloads and we are UNABLE to use any functions on our computer as this happens. We was using Yahoo 8.1 IM program with firefox browser and had no problems what so ever, and have returned to the program but the USB phone port problem still persists.AT the present we dont use Yahoo IM at all;but unfortunately some of my friends REFUSE to use Windows Live IM so the only way we can chat is thru yahoo IM . DELL wont get involved and Yahoo answers/tech is USELESS about solving this problem.Am i the only one with this PROBLEM??A few weeks ago EVERYONE had a problem with Yahoo messenger CONSTANTLY loading and unloading but the problem seems to be some what resolved.THANKS for any and all help;Best wishes>>>JIM

You can try downloading the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility ans see if it is listed there, check it, and remove it.
You could also download and try Codestuff Starter. It's an application that prevents items from running at startup
