I upgraded my cousins computer to Vista Ultimate. He has an AMD semperon 3000+, 4gb ram HP Pavilion.
I was setting up his programs, one of them being the Stardock Logon Studio, and updating his AVG AV at the same time. The end of the download for Stardock ended at the same time as AVG finished applying the updates. This for some reason stalled them both, both of them showing 1 second remaining for the next 15 minutes.
I was unable to cancel anything, right click/close, or ctrl+alt+del to shut down from task manager. I felt the only option was to hold down the power button. I did, and restarted computer after a few minutes.
Downloads seem to go very very slow now. I downloaded Itunes for him, and the download time showed for 2 hours. I can go page to page on the internet easily, the pages load fine, but downloading and bootup time seems to take forever. He has a cable hookup.
I right clicked the network connections and selected 'diagnose and repair' but it showed everything as fine.
Any ideas to help, or get me started in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot
