Wow! Thanks for the tip! I noticed an instant speed increase. I just recently switched from IE to Firefox, and I love it! It is much more secure than IE, and it blocks almost all popups, instead of only a few.

I recently started using Firefox and liked it so much made it my default.
Will this "speedup" tip work for those of us who must use dial-up service?
Yes,its hard to beleive that some of us are still in the horse & buggy days....its a bummer!
Thanx!

Meh,
I use Opera 8.5. It is faster than Firefox and blocks more pop-ups than FireFox does. I recommend users trying that one.

Have to agree with Jesse Bassett I've just started trying 'Opera' and must admit it is faster than 'Firefox'. But i'll still use 'Firefox' because i like the extensions that i've added.(some things are hard to live without)

Adding to the fact that IE is full of holes....
Download free "Tiny Personal Firewall", and Mozilla "SeaMonkey Internet Suite"... and set TPF to block everything IE, and leave IE in a quiet little sealed coffin, somewhere in the back of your operating system... That's the only way you can plug IE's holes... You can't delete IE, or you will seriously mess-up the OS...
I format-C, and reload my software environment.. and I update IE as far as I can, given that IE is a crucial integral part of the Windows operating system... then I shut IE down with Tiny Personal Firewall...
