I have made an html form and now I want my website visitors to fill in the form and have it mailed to me. I am not able to find much info on this topic that I can understand. Do I have to load sendmail to my server or is there one sendmail program on the server that works for all the domains on the server? I have ftp sendmail to my server and tried to configure it but no luck. Also there are lots of cgi scripts that are available on the server but none are a mailing program like sendmail. I know this cant be that hard to do. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Have a look at Formmail:

Sendmail may be overkill for what you are trying to do.
