i have 2 harddrives windows xp pro corp sp2 on one hd0 and mandrake linux on hd1 i install xp, then mandrake. mandrake grub finds the xp install and adds it to the grub interface, and i am like wooooooo. but o no got excited early (about 20 reinstalls of mandrake and 6 of xp so far) i click on windows and what happens "theres no boot record" soo all i could do was boot into mandrake. currently i am stuck with shutting down and changing jumpers on the drives so please urgently i need some tutorial that works, to show me how and what to do explicitly to install xp and mandrake 10.1 and have them dual booting. i can reformat the WHOLE linux hd but windows is rather full i have a 9gb partition that windows sints on the 111gb left is full of stuff, programs (i don't install to C:) and other things shares etc. thanx for any help! I can't begin to understand why Mandrake is wiping out the MBR because it shouldn't.
Try a search for Windows XP dual boot here http://linuxquestions.org or the Mandrake forums here- http://www.mandrakeusers.org/ -------------------- |
