Norton 360-please Help!

I have Norton 360. Starting on Monday, my internet says "Browsing not safe: Auto Protect is off". I tried "fixing" it. Doesn't work. Tried manually changing in the Advanced Settings and "applying". Nothing. Tried rebooting...notta. I searched the web and found that my computer most likely has a virus. AFter scanning w/ AVG, Spybot, and Adaware, nothing comes up. I tried using Hyjack this, but it only opens a win-zip file and won't run the application. I am completely at a loss and really need help. This is a home business computer. PLEASE SEND SOME HELP!!!!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!! I am about to have a melt down.

Actually you don't need a zip file utility to run Hijack This. The instructions tell you to save the file to your desktop but you can run it like anything else and it will open. That's what I did.

if you DO run the HJT and post a log in this thread , this thread will have to be transfered to the specialist HJT section of this forum


try first running some scans to find what might be on the computer

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support team responding to your post about Norton 360. This behavior can be caused by a corrupted installation or an infection. Please follow the steps in the document below to resolve this issue.


Norton 360 Auto-Protect Fix

The next step would be to restart your computer in Windows Safe Mode and then run a Full System Scan from there.

Please try this process and let me know if it resolves your issue with Norton 360.
