hello and thanks in advance
im trying to install windows 98 on a compaq computer that currently has no operating system.when i boot from cd it gives me the following "an error was detected while trying to read or write to your hard disk" it will not let me go any further with the install.
i downloaded what i thought was the right diagnostic program from western digital for a wd400eb 40g hard drive but i cant run the program,it is set to boot from cd first.
am i even close to figuring out what is wrong?
