Important Announcement: We have two terrific contests running on the site that I wanted all our members and guests to know about.

The first contest is the HP Magic Giveaway, which is underway as of November 28th. More information can be found at this topic, which will be updated very soon with further information.

The second contests, is for the chance to win two Seagate FreeAgent external hard drives. More information about this contest can be found here.

Ok so I used Vista's Shrink Volume tool and upon rebooting, my computer hangs at the startup screen and does not budge. Even if you try to go into setup or selecting boot device. It absolutely does not want to go anywhere. I've been looking up for solutions and I think it may be that i formatted the unallocated space to ntfs file system and primary partition boot or something like that? :S

Vista Home 6, 32-bit edition

I'm not sure if there's anyway I can go back. Basically I just need a way to wipe the hd so the computer can read my recovery disc.

Thanks for any feedback

Regards,
Jake

Hi Jake,

I see you have a HJT log posted in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum.

You shouldn't make any changes to your system, while your HJT log is posted, as that could change the results of the posted log, making it difficult to properly clean your system.
At this point, the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean.

Since you have received no response after 5 days, give them a gentle reminder by posting a link to your HJT log in the thread titled "Haven't Had A Reply In Five Days?".

This topic will now be closed.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.
