Software Search I am looking for a good freeware application to..

Hello,

I am looking for a freeware application that does a good job of comparing the contents of 2 (or maybe even more?) folders for both duplicate and different content.

For instance, I keep a "backup" folder which is simply a folder where I use the copy command to duplicate the contents of, say, my Documents folder or my Favorites folder.

Does anyone know of a good freeware app that can compare the contents of both my original AND my copied folders to search out both differences and/or duplicates?

Yeah, I have checked out that list of Freeware Replacements for Commercial APPs but I havn't actually found exactly what I am looking for....

Perhaps I need to look harder!!!!

I found this site, which checks out OK, with SiteAdvisor, and LinkScanner.
It list several, duplicate file finders.
Might want to check it out.

I was SHOCKED to see the MAIN PAGE that came up when I signed in for the FIRST TIME...KIND OF, UM, RISQUE?????

I didn't sign up, so I didn't know what the site was like.
I just checked the link for malicious code, and bad downloads from the site.
It was one of the first hits in a Google search. :thumbsup:

I figured you didn't know...and I didn't get hurt or anything like that....lol....

I think there are some good links to some decent software there...I just was SURPRISED at what came up when I registered and signed in....

Well there's a file duplicate finder in Cleanup assistant http://www.cleanupassistant.com/ a freeware... But you have to type up the duplicated files :thumbsup:
