That's not really a gaming card. gaming cards start at x6xx. x8xx are the high end cards. The card you bought is meant more for workstations. Don't get me wrong, you should be fine with it. Just don't expect to play Crysis on high.

Thats a very good price for the card. Definitely don't expect playing newer games on high settings though.

in my total opinion..some games i can't tell the difference from Low settings to high...and I dont plan to play any really high end games until i SLI this card in my new build(hopefully going to go core 2 duo..2gb and this card SLIed with an 8800gts) That'll do some stuff...or go for the whole bang and get PCIe 2.0 9000gt And Sli those...but thats out of my price range i think.....Anyoen know if Pcie 2.0 is backwards compatible(so i can use my reg pcie cards until pcie 2.0 is cheaper)? Thanks

Ya you can use the X16 cards in 2.0 slots and vice versa. One thing you should know is that you can't so SLI with cards with different cores. You would need 2 8500GT's or 2 8800GTS

yea you can plug it into any PCIe slot. even the 1x if you really really want to. If you notice the interface on the card is segmented. 1x lil section 16x the big section and 2.0 the lil hook part on the end. but if you get an 8800 you'll pretty much just put the 8500 in the closet.

the 9600 is almost the same price, but still outperformed by the 8800. the 9800 is about 600 bucks right now sad.gif

this card SLIed with an 8800gts

SLI requires identical cards.
