Well Keny you haven't said which operating system you are using.

In Win98SE, goto Control Panel and open Modems. Click on the Diagnostics tab and you will see a list on the ports available. I have 3, COM1, COM2 and COM3. COM1 and COM2 say No modem installed, mine is on COM3.

You can select each one in turn and press the More Info... button, this will test the port and tell you if the modem is functioning. dry.gif

I don't know of any updates for Win95. You can still get updates for Win98SE of Microsoft

http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp

Depending on you system spec you might be better of installing Win98SE. dry.gif

So what is stopping you getting online now?

There were 5 releases of Windows 95

Windows 95 retail, OEM 4.00.950 7/11/95
Windows 95 retail SP1 4.00.950A 7/11/95-12/31/95
OEM Service Release 2 4.00.1111* (4.00.950B) 8/24/96
OEM Service Release 2.1 4.03.1212-1214* (4.00.950B) 8/24/96-8/27/97
OEM Service Release 2.5 4.03.1214* (4.00.950C) 8/24/96-11/18/97

I know of no antivirus or spyware programs that will work with 95 anymore.
That is going to be a major problem when online.

Won't AVG work with Win95? I know they are suppocidly dropping support for Win98 and ME in August this year. This is only suppocidly the grissoft forum doesn't comfirm this as such. I posted the link about this in another thread about AVG on here. dry.gif
