Next month I'm going to be installing Vista on my system, but wanted to have a backup of my old XP. My computer has a partiton that has backup software and XP on it. If I were to copy all the files on that partition to a DVD or CD, would I be able to boot from it and reinstall XP if Vista wasn't working?

Hi, good question, depends on the back up files but you can not copy xp to a cd and reinstall it. Also before you go and install Vista check to see if you can get compatible Vista driversfor your system.
