Hi! I want to remove 3 old versions of Java. I have Windows XP. When I go to 'add/remove programs' and click on 'remove' it starts to configure the software to be removed but then a box comes up that says 'fatal error during installation'. I then went to the Java website for help & they said I could install a Microsoft clean-up utility but it would possibly remove all the programs I had ever installed with a Windows installer, and I definitely don't want to do that. What should I do?

When using the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility just check the boxes of what you want to remove. It will leave the other entries alone. It should also be noted that you should not use the utility for Windows Office applications
