Using WinRAR I archived all of a large program I'm not using at this time. I wanted to store the .rar archive on a DVD, the file will easily fit. However, neither windows nor Nero Backup will burn these files. WHY?
Any way I can do this?

windows xp does not burn dvd's, your rar file should be burned as a data dvd by nero express
nero back up is not primarily for burning, it's a backup program, and not a very good one at that

Dachew is quite right. You'll need a program that burns data DVDs. BC maintains a list of freeware which includes a section on CD/DVD burning apps. You can find it here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/top...tml#entry345675 scroll down a bit to find the CD/DVD section.
