Vista is actually more reliable and more secure than XP. The difficulty is that it's a major change from the way that computers have done business over the last few years.
If you've got old stuff (programs and hardware) that you still want to use - Vista isn't for you. If you don't want to check to see if something is Vista compatible before buying/downloading it - Vista isn't for you Most problems that I've seen are from printers - with TV cards also being an issue. If you've got an older one, and there aren't any Vista drivers for it, you're gonna have to get a new one. Some software programs can be coaxed to work. The lower the level that the program works on (more interface with hardware/OS functions) the less likely it is that an older program will work. I've been able to get WFW 3.11 games to work on Vista in Windows 95 compatibility mode (it was a condition of the sale for a new computer on the day that Vista was released). -------------------- - John
