Hello, bleepingcomputer community!

I really have no idea what went wrong with my MS Word. Bold has become it's default font type.

I've already checked out FORMAT > FONT. There, there are 2 groups of font styles: Latin Text Font and Asian Text font. Asian text font seems to be working fine. I have choices of changing them to regular, italic, bold, or bold italic.

However, for Latin text font, I can only choose italic, bold, or bold italic. My sister and I most often use times new roman, which is under Latin text, so that's why this is quite a problem for us...

Could anyone help us, please?

Here are my specs:
System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Dell Inspiron MXC061
Genuine Inter® CPU
T2300 @ 1.66GHz
1.66 GHz, 0.99 GB of RAM

MS Word:
Microsoft Office Word 2003 (11.5604.5606)
Part of Microsoft Professional Edition 2003

I didn't know what information I should include here, so I just typed stuff I saw in ABOUT and Properties.. ::thumbsup::

Thanks again for anyone who could help!

Something has gone amiss, I would run a repair through add/remove programs.

Hi, Monty007!

Do you mean I should uninstall and reinstall MS Office?

Thanks!

Hello, garmanma!

I did what you suggested, but the font is still bold. The process ends when a pop-up window says "Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003 Setup completed successfully," right?

I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling MS Office, but it doesn't fix anything. The problem persists.

It's the same for TIMES NEW ROMAN. There are only 3 choices - bold, italic, and bold italic. I can't make it into the regular font.

Ehehe. I had a feeling you'd say that.

Thanks so much for the effort to help! I'll try the "virus" part of the forum. My laptop might be infected by something.

Thanks once again~

Try deleting the NORMAL.DOT file
Exit Word
Start - find
Search for normal.dot
Delete it
Word will recreate it.

See if it works then
In the beginning there was the command line.

Hey there, Eyesee.

Unfortunately, your suggestion didn't work, either. (T T)
