for win2k and previous boot from system disk and type:
fdisk /mbr

for win XP and later boot from the install cd, go to recovery console, select your windows, log in and type:
fixmbr

If someone tells you to su rm -rf /
DON'T DO IT!!!!

It should. But, If it doesn't, make sure you make a system disk before you format. If for some weird reason, a bootloader is still there, boot from the system disk and fixmbr it.

Reformatting the hard drive will indeed kill the MBR.

To make a System Recovery Console CD (I'm not sure what JoeDude meant by system disk) so that you can boot into the Recovery console without your original CD, download this CD image: http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/Tools/boot.../xp_rec_con.zip . Extract the image from the zip file and burn it to a CD (using an image burning program like ISORecorder)

I already fix the MBR using the installtion disc of Mandriva and using the rescue system.

I choose the fix the window boot.

And all now is OK.

Thanks for your reply.

BUt i learned that you can create System Recovery Console..Thanks man..

Thanks
