Removing Grub On The Mbr help

Hi Bleeping computers,
Does anybody knows how to remove the GRUB menu.I tried to remove the Mandriva linux
on my laptop and delete the partitions that i made but when i but the GRUB menu is still there.
Please help me

were you dual booting it windows? if yes then which windows?

for win2k and previous boot from system disk and type:
for win XP and later boot from the install cd, go to recovery console, select your windows, log in and type:
fdisk /mbr
for win XP and later boot from the install cd, go to recovery console, select your windows, log in and type:
fixmbr

Thanks for the reply.
I am thousands of miles away from home and install cd is impossible.
I just downloaded the install CD of Mandriva linux.Can LIVE cd from Mandriva can fix and remove the grub?
Any other method?
B4 it, was dual boot with xp and vista...i tried Mandriva and to have a triple boot, but Mandriva wont work
on my laptop.
I will be selling this laptop with no OS coz i am planning to buy new one. I dont want my buyer
will have a problem on GRUB menu.. Will formating the hardrive can fix it?

It should. But, If it doesn't, make sure you make a system disk before you format. If for some weird reason, a bootloader is still there, boot from the system disk and fixmbr it.

Reformatting the hard drive will indeed kill the MBR.
To make a System Recovery Console CD (I'm not sure what JoeDude meant by system disk) so that you can boot into the Recovery console without your original CD, download this CD image: http://www.webtree.ca/windowsxp/Tools/boot.../xp_rec_con.zip . Extract the image from the zip file and burn it to a CD (using an image burning program like ISORecorder)

I already fix the MBR using the installtion disc of Mandriva and using the rescue system.
I choose the fix the window boot.
And all now is OK.
