Dwmapi.dll Installing Global Hooks

ok this dwmapi.dll is installing global hooks on everything i run for the first time my firewall says it could be a keylogger but i have scanned with avast, ad-aware, AVG 8.0 and comodo firewall inbuilt scanner i need to know what this thing is i dont trust it

Hi Dialga.
That dll appears to belong to "Dependency Walker" and would do just that. It is a legitimate diagnostics utility. Let us know.
EDIT: From the Dependency Walker Site:

i have never installed it never heard of it but i have look for the .dll on my vista machine and it seems like a valid windows thing called Microsoft Desktop Windows Manager API but i want to know why its installing hooks on every app i run for the first time could something be using it for spying and it's not a piece of spyware thankfully

It puts hooks into everything because it's a video-oriented service and video is involved in everything that's displayed on your system:

dwmapi.dll is a Window Manager API from Microsoft Corporation belonging to Microsoft® Windows® Vista
dwmapi.dll should not be disabled, required for essential applications to work properly
