Cleaning The Memory Banks.

i am trying to upgrade my RAM, when i install the new memory i get a constant beeping on my bootup. i need to clean my memory banks but i dont know what solutions to use can someone help me please

Contact spray cleaner or a toothbrush and isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Unplug the machine, dip the brush in the alcohol and shake off the excess. Make sure it evaporates before plugging it back in. Are you certain you selected the correct RAM?

System & memory specs would really help
Did you replace all the memory or just add a module?

Need a little more background info

Usually problems like this are not caused by dirty DIMM banks. Try putting one of your old modules in slot 1, and then a new one in slot 2, and then memtesting the whole thing. You can find memtest from http://memtest86.org. Just burn the ISO to a CD with something like IMGBURN, and let it run for a couple of hours. See what you get.

If it still can't boot, my guess is that your ram is not compatable with your board. You can use Crucial's excellent scaning tool to see what type of ram you should have.
