Toshiba Portege 620ct What's Possible Want to make it as good as I can

It's working now I've changed the internal batteries, just wonder how far I can go with it as a little hobby. It's not my main pc.

Windows 98
Pentium 100MHz
40Mb ram
File system 32bit
Vertual memory 32bit
Hard drive 1.25Gb

3.5 External Floppy disk drive with cable. Working?

It has a 3Com 3C562D/3C563D EtherLink III LAN+33.6 Modem PC Card installed and working???

How to connect external mouse? I hate this little toggle.

What is the middle connection on the rear?

What is the small connection to the rear on the left hand side?

What do I need to use broadband?

Will try anything but bios could be a little problem ( never been that deep ).

In all honesty, attempt to find and max out the memory and install Linux on it.

It will never be able to handle today's internet except with an extremely light linux

Thanks I may just try Linux??
But was only thinking of making it as good as possible for a step daughter in Russia to play simple games on. Instead of her being on the only computer when others need it for more important things. She only plays the Windows games at the moment.
Possibly a little on the internet. But if I want to how would I connect.

With a 1.25gig hard drive and 40mb of RAM, that's about all it will play is Solitaire and Minesweeper
If you tried to connect to the internet, it would probably come to a screeching halt

Thanks I was thinking of increasing the size of the hard drive. But as far as I can find on the internet my Ram is already at it's maximum. Think it better to give it up as a lost cause.
