Internet Explorer Freezes

Everytime I load Internet Explorer on my computer, it freezes up before the homepage loads. I do not know what caused this problem, but i would like to know what the solutions are to this issue. Thank you.

Have you updated, and run your antivirus?
Have you done any online virus scans?
Have you run any Spyware/Malware programs?
What Spyware/Malware programs do you use?
Were there any error messages?
If so, what was the exact error message?
