Unconfigure Ms Exchange Server? Trying to reset / setup e-mail

I have Outlook. It was configured through a MS exchange server. I want to configure Outlook for my ATT mail and disable the other e-mail. If I do this will I lose any saved e-mails? When I have chosen remove the excahnge server from the e-mail account it asks to set-up a new folder, so I'm not sure.

Your old emails should stay where they are, and all of your filters will apply to the new address too.
