First, is Thunderbird still going to be around, or is it going with the Modzilla <sp> Suite?
I have downloaded Thunderbird and am getting it set up etc. My question is how do I import my messages (especially the "Saved") over there from Incredimail? I have my fingers crossed that it is not going to be too much grief unsure.gif Any help will be appreciated. I did see that they have a forum---but haven't registered yet...and you are always so quick to help, and have lots of patience when it comes to the slow learners like me specool.gif

Thank you......still cold.gif here sad.gif

I have Thunderbird.
I think it is "here to stay".
I like it a lot.

I don't have Incredimail, but Importing is done
using the Tools--> Import.

Of the the nice features I enjoy is the POP3 downloading.
I have it set up for my gmail account.

Configuring POP3 in Thunderbird

Once set up, you simply select "get mail".

It will download mail from the server you have chosen (gmail)
It all goes into the Inbin.
20 messages might take 10 seconds to appear in my Inbin, (now on hard drive)

A word of caution.
Big file attacments (like a couple mp3's at 9.5MB) take too long.
Do them separately, by placing them in the Trash temporarily, before you
have POP3 used to download all your messages. (T-bird doesn't download Trash).

You can set up folders of your choice to organize.
Folder names I use are BC, PM Archives, Individuals, etc

Sub-folders of PM Archives include:
02-22 to 02-28 sent
02-22 to 02-28 rec'd
etc.

Sub-folders of individuals might be a nickname or full name.

BC contains forum & topic notifications,
Sub-folders might be:
HJT logs
winXP questions,
etc.

Also,
you may color key any message listed in Inbin, Folder or sub-folder
in one of five colors, to assist in organization.
Use the context menu, right-click any message line found in the folder(s).
Select "label".
0 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 are
(default-black) - red - orange - green - blue - purple

The Mozilla suite is going away, not Thunderbird. The aim of the Mozilla folks appears to be to concentrate on FF and TB and stop further work on the suite; however, until TB is as good as the suite's Email client, I will stick with Mozilla. Note that Mozilla will continue to support the last release of the suite.
Regards,
John
