Itunes copying a playlist to a usb stick

Hi

I have made up a playlist on my itunes which i want to copy to a usb stick. Once I had made up my playlist I saved it on my desktop, however when saving it it asks if you want to save it as a txt file or xml file. Can anyone advise which one I should choose?

I want to be able to have piece of mind that when I use this stick that the music will play?

Any help appreciated.

Just an update to say that I put some of the music onto CD's rather than a memory stick. It was just for a party I was going to anayway.

So no help required now.
