Hello oldbod and welcome to BC
As far as I know, to download SP2, you have to use Windows Update, and I don't know if you can then burn it to a CD. However, you can order a CD-ROM directly from Microsoft for the cost of shipping and handling, probably within $5 or so. It takes about 4-6 weeks to arrive. Here's the link: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloa...us/default.mspx

As for burning to CD...probably (IMO) the best approach (if you have an XP CD) would be to create a slipstreamed/updated XP CD, using a tool like nLite or following the directions from one of the various websites.
nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation - Guide - http://www.nliteos.com/guide/
Slipstreamed Windows XP CD Using SP2 - http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstreamed_xpsp2_cd.htm
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=b...pstreamed+XP+CD
By doing this, you would avoid version problems users experience when attempting to use XP CDs which do not include SP2...to repair current versions of XP.
