Hello, I have a Dell Dimension 4600 Windows XP Pro sp2
I have on board audio ports like mic head phones and what not.
I have no sounds.
Device manager has no missing drivers
when i go to control panel and sound it says no audio device
I did all windows updates still no sound
can any one help me get this sound going? I just bought this from someone on ebay and got it today

Did you think to check and see if you *or some evil little brother* might have muted the sound? I did that to myself once with the mute button on my keyboard.

haha, Good idea but nope. I'm all by my self and I just got the computer. Clean install. Deffinetly not muted. I wish it was as simple as that.

Have you expanded the "sound, video, and game controllers" sub-section of the device manager to ensure that the drivers for your sound card are installed?
Sometimes an uninstall and re-install of device drivers helps some issues.

"No audio device" means that the sound drivers are not installed.

Download/install the package under Audio which applies to you (I suspect it's the first one, unless you know that you have Creative Sound.

Yeah i tried that before i posted, It says sorry the driver could not be installed please restart.
I do that and get the same message if i try to reinstall it
