Can I zip it and put this music on,or how can I make the files smaller,I though these Mpvs could take days of music?its just a cheapie though.

I have two hours of music with winamp and wanted to download it to my young sons MPV player,it said the file was to big?two hours,so I deleted everything he had on there to try and get it on.......its still too big and he is not happy with me........?
Can I zip it and put this music on,or how can I make the files smaller,I though these Mpvs could take days of music?its just a cheapie though.
