One Gpu Or Two?

Im building a new system and on some what of a budge and I was wondering if it would be better to have two mid-end video cards or one high end video card. Also, if I plan on running XP can I still take advantage of some of the benifits of the 8 series GeForce cards like D10? Thanks

2 8500's might give a 50% performance improvement

but starting with such a low number I doubt 2 of them would catch the single better card

sli or crossfire really makes no sense for anyone on a budget, it's not a bang for the buck option

about the only thing you can say good about it, is 2 8800GT's will beat 1 8800gt

personally I always prefer to have one GPU other than 2, reason being is I have seen alot of problems with games and sli so my personal choice would be to go for the MSI NX8600GTS
