I'm working on an application that will be hosted internally to my company's intranet. I want to see if the text username and password is being sent in plain text. Are there any free network sniffers out there that I can test this with?

I know that one way around this is using SSL, but for right now, we don't have that option.

Thanks

~U

Ethereal is an excellent sniffer and it reconstructs the tcp steam so you see exactly what happened in the http request.

You will need to install winpcap, but i think its in the download section of ethereal
