I removed a virus from my daughters Windows 98 computer, using Trend Micro Housecall. When I reboot the computer it has the appearance of going into safe mode but is not because it does not have the safe mode tags in each corner and the computer freezes at this point. If anyone can suggest a fix for this problem, I would really appreciate it.

Soud like you video drivers are missing or damaged . Try reinstalling them . Make sure you have the most current downloaded .
