Three names came to mind immediately: Margret Thatcher, Indira Ghandi, and Cleopatra. I add Cleo because during her reign, women were not permitted to rule. She was the consumate statesperson and seized power like a man would.
Gender was not a factor, blood line & political power was what really counted. There were two other female rulers of Egypt before Cleopatra, 69-30 B.C. existed.

Hatshepsut
Queen of Egypt, 15th century B.C.

Nefertiti
Queen of Egypt, 14th Century B.C

Just people and society feeling the need to separate people into groups, so sad. And these are the same people who get upset over magazine covers. What hypocrites.
I agree.

I like what The Daily Show's Jon Stewart had to say about this race;

Quote of the week:

In Larry King's interview with Jon Stewart, Larry brought up the subject of the primaries and asked him if America was ready for a woman or a black president.

Jon looked at him quizzically and said "This is such a non-question. Did anyone ask us in 2000 if Americans were ready for a moron?" :thumbsup:
War is better at abolishing nations than nations are at abolishing
wars.
