Visiting Alien Group: Members Posts: 5,140 Joined: 20-May 07 From: millenium falcon and rockytop Member No.: 131,963	I am beginning to wonder what's worse, all the malware or the conflicts from having duplicate protections running real time? We have known not to have 2 anti virus programs active, but now with the greying of the distinction between virii, trojans and spyware, and the trend for anti malware programs to try to cover all these bases, aren't software conflicts inevitable? I first ran into this problem a couple of years ago and had to reload a couple of computers where I was running spybot's teatimer and norton's av active. Somewhere between windows updates, norton's and teatimer, windows got completely hosed. It was easier to fix an infection than that mess? a forum member Group: Members Posts: 2,360 Joined: 27-August 07 Member No.: 153,171	I have actually seen a computer with no less that FOUR antivirus programs installed simultaneously; the owner beleived that such level of protection was beneficial and essential for its 'effective protection' ; he also wondered why the computer was failing to run properly and why it appeared to be infected like anything else you can warn and advise people till the cows come home but it is their choice to listen ..............or ,most often.................not
