I have had a dsl modem for about 1 year and didn't have any problem with it. its a speedstream 4100 adsl modem. Then I got the wii and i didn't have a wireless router for it so my cousin gave me his old one. Its a 2wire 1701 HG. the wireless router worked just fine. the connection speed was the same as before with the modem which was about 2400 kilobits per second. After a while the router didn't work. the light for broadband link didn't turn green. so i went back to using the modem. Again it was working fine with the same speed. Then again i tried setting up the router again and it worked. Then it worked at the same speed for like 2 days. after that my connection speed went down to like 600 kilobits per second. i thought it was the router's fault so i changed back to the modem again! but still the connection is at 600 kilobits per second. I don't know what i did but i really screwed it up. i need it back the way it was. i tried system restore. didn't do any good. i tried different setting on the router still didn't do any good.
