QUOTE(FdjC @ Mar 25 2005, 10:56 AM)
thanks for that but i cant change my settings much like to what you describe..strange and thanks anyway, it rules one thing out
anyway the LFC website which is my main problam was added to the allow/safe list long ago, maybe its the type of script it uses that SP2 automatically blocks........anybody have a clue?

One thing I can tell you. Windows XP Home Service Pack 2 is still a Beta version, it's still on trial but reportedly ready now for the real thing. That means that there have been bugs in the Beta version of SP2, which Microsoft themeslves admit & hopefully have sorted out by now.

Maybe that's your problem FdjC. Perhaps I'm way wrong about all this but this is what I think it is. I'm still in this thread mainly because I joined your thread with a similiar problem, luckily solved by me since.

Wonder why the experts in this forum are all mum about your problem. There are enough & plenty of wizards here to help you. cool.gif

Best of luck to you FdjC. thumbup.gif

sorry to double post but it bumps this and i wanna help others cause i email the site and they sent me this:
The first way is waht fixed my problem :D

The issue you have been experiencing is almost certainly as a result of
the use of Norton Personal Firewall. To correct the problem please
follow these steps (these steps relate to the 2005 version, so there may
be some differences with your version):

1. Open Norton Personal Firewall
2. Select "Ad Blocking" (this may be in anti-spam) and click the
Configure button
3. In the pop-up window, click "Advanced"
4. Click "Add Site" and type in "www.liverpoolfc.tv", then click OK
5. Select the "Ad Blocking" tab on the right hand side, and click
"Add..."
6. Type in "menu" in the text box provided, and select the "Permit"
checkbox, then click OK
7. Now click OK on the "Advanced" window, and OK on the "Ad Blocking"
window
8. Close the Norton Personal Firewall window
9. Open Your Internet Explorer
10. Choose 'Tools'
11. Select 'Internet Options'
12. Choose 'Delete Files'

If you now experience any issues with the menu on any Liverpoolfc.tv
pages, you will need to press CTRL + F5 (clicking the refresh button
will not be sufficient)

If you are still having problems or you do not have a Norton Firewall,
please can you try the following:

1. Some pages act as a pop ups from the launch page. If you have
software installed to block pop ups you will not be able to view this
page.

Please uninstall or adapt this software and you will find the boards
will now function correctly.

A common way to bypass pop up blockers is to hold down the CTRL button
while you click on the link.

2. Please can you try the following:

a. Open Internet Explorer.
b. Choose 'Tools'
c. Select 'Internet Options'
d. Choose the Security tab.
e. Click on 'Trusted Sites'.
f. Click 'sites'
g. Remove the tick from 'Requires Sever Verification...'
h. Type on *.liverpoolfc.tv
i. Click 'Add'

Next:

1. Select the 'Security' Tab
2. Open 'Custom Level'
3. Scroll down active scripting
4. Ensure it is set to 'Enable'.
5. Scroll further to 'Scripting of Java Applets'
6. Ensure it is set to 'Enable'
7. Press OK

Please now close down all browsers and then reopen.

Now in my case MY site was the liverpool FC one but i would think that waht they have said would work for any site, i hope this helps anyone out there, agian sorry to double post.

Congratulations on getting your problem fixed, FdjC. thumbup.gif

Thanks for posting back with the solution.
Someome else with this problem could find it useful.
It will at least give them other options to try.
