http://202.54.21.190/DirectTrade/directtrade.asp?

That's the link to my Stock Trading terminal page but you can't access it without being a subscriber. This page runs Java Applets to display live streaming quotes from the Stock Exchanges in India.

Try this link: http://www.nse-india.com

This is the National Stock Exchange of India website. Follow the link to the charts & see if you can open any intra-day or end-of-day chart for any particular scrip eg. SAIL or TISCO or ONGC or BHEL. These are all stock symbols pertaining to some Indian Companies whose shares are being traded on the stock markets here. The chart page requires Java Applets to run on your computer.

If the chart is visible, that means your Java Applets are running fine. If not, your JVM is'nt working OK.

i dont know what you mean there, but the drop down menus work great on that site, also at the top a scrolling message works grand too, i thin its javascript as well.
I think it must be the liverpool website thats the problem as even on the homepage on it i see less on it than in school, for instance i do not see the adds on the left hand side at home but i do in school.

black X's show whati dont see at home, maybe that can help anyone?

Funny, the Liverpool web site opens fine on my PC, graphics & all. This means there's nothing wrong with their website.

Try this site. It needs Java to be enabled to view their Lake effect greeting cards.

if you mean the waterfall card it works perfect here, maybe on the lierpool website there is a special ActiveX that needed to be installded and i didnt install and clicked some"dont ask this again " box, if so maybe i dont get the effects, however i went to the LFC honk kong site and all worked great........except being in a different language i mean

would spybot search and destroy (with trea timer), norton internet security 04, spywareblaster or even MS beta antispyware, stop scripts running on the LFC website does anyone know?
and if yes do they know a way i can fix it?

Just a thought, have you tried using another browser.
I use Firefox.
It's more secure, faster, and can be customized to your needs, using extensions.
You can use Firefox and IE together, with no problems.

Your links work fine in Firefox.

Read your last post too FdjC. Sorry I'm unable to help you with any real authority because I'm also just a PC user like you. You know I had a Java problem too but one that got resolved quickly by luck. If you're so hung up about the Luiverpool site that seems to be the only one giving you problems, why don't you write to their site administrator & find out if there's any reason you can't access their site properly. Maybe you'll get an answer. Just maybe.

Meanwhile, this forum here is about the best that I've come across. Filled with real wizards too & great moderators. I myself had a nagging & severe Browser Hijack problem that the guys here (Grinler almost the whole way) helped crack with utmost patience & expertise over a period of more than a month. That's how good these guys are over here. Just wait a while & you'll get expert help soon.

Try making a new post starting a new thread. That will attract the attention of the wizards here again. Maybe this thread is too old & really getting nowhere towards a solution for you. Best of luck. thumbup.gif

ok sorry to double post but i recently found out something.
I have windows XP SP2 and from what i have googled about it and java it appears MS have disabeled a lot of scripts such as popup menus and the like.
would anyone know how to disable this blocker or a way around it?
or do i have to go back to SP1 again....i like SP2 as it has a built in firewall if norton ever messes up i can temporarly use it instead.

If you just want to turn off XP SP2 pop-up blocker, it is quite simple. On your Internet Explorer browser click TOOLS / POP-UP BLOCKER / TURN OFF POP-UP BLOCKER. If you want to keep the pop-up blocker ON but allow only certain web sites with pop-ups, again on your IE browser just click TOOLS / POP-UP BLOCKER / POP-UP BLOCKER SETTINGS and under the EXCEPTIONS tab fill in the URL of your web sites. That will allow your sites to open up with their pop-ups while all other pop-ups will remain blocked, depending upon the level of pop-up blocking you have set on your POP-UP BLOCKER SETTINGS, High, Medium or Low.

Hope I've answered your question. Just a little bit that I know I've passed on to you. Maybe the experts in this forum will answer your question differently & more specifically if you are not fully satisfied with my answer.

Glad to know tho' that you are on the recovery path & keep that SP2 Firewall ON, it seems to keep a hell of a lot of unwanted stuff away from your PC. smile.gif
