In IE / Tools / Internet Options / Advanced tab
Scroll down to the entry:
Java (Sun)
It should have a checkmark in it

Below that is the entry:
Microsoft VM
With 3 boxes under it. None should be checked.

Is this what you have?

Looks good.
Sorry, I'm out of ideas.
Hopefully someone else will come up with another idea.

Good job on the screenshot.

FdjC, you are not alone in this. Believe it or not, I am facing exactly the same problem that you are. Your's is an exact replica screen shot of my IE Options Advanced tab (no 3 boxes, only one). Also have SUN JAVA ver 1.5.0 installed & my JAVA options window too does'nt look like the one on the web page referred to. For instance, there are no tabulated columns & no Proxy tab.

In my case I need JAVA applets to run to enable streaming quotes from the Stock Market. All was OK previously until my computer crashed recently & I had to format my Hard Disk & re-install Windows XP Home with SP2. No Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware or Anti-Adware software is loaded in my computer presently.

Need help desperately. Someone please solve this problem.

Bingo!!

OK FdjC, I just solved my problem myself. As I said in my post yesterday in the Windows XP category, SUN JVM was'nt supported by the website that I use for streaming quotes from the stock exchange. I was desperately looking for the old Microsoft JVM which is neither installed with XP SP2 nor is it available for download nowadays from the Microsoft Windows Update site. Some legal wrangling between Microsoft & SUN Microsystems is sending us end-users on a spin.

Fortunately there are some good souls out there on the Web who understand all this & try to help out by providing links to download the old MS JVM. Just found one such link complete with the MS JVM & the most recent updates, all bundled into one convenient download & install package called "All in one Installer". Follow this link, download & follow the installation instructions and I think you should be back into your Liverpool site. Good Luck. thumbup.gif

Not too glad to hear that FdjC. Did you uninstall the SUN JVM first before downloading the old MS JVM? You need to do that. If not, you are bound to have conflicts of some sort. Get the SUN JVM out of your system & get the old MS JVM in. I think that should do you good. Try it, no problem if it does'nt work 'cause you can always download & install the SUN JVM again. It's easily available many places for download now.

Why I said what I did was because after I got the old MS JVM in, all the windows, tabs, options that they said in your earlier post strings appear as they said it should. I mean the screen shots and all that you posted & said that they did'nt look the way they were supposed to.
