Hello
I'm building a new computer with a Pentium Core Duo processor, a XFX nForce 780i motherboard, and a 650 watt BFG power supply. When I connected everything, I had no power. No light on the back near the power supply, nothing. The motherboard is correctly mounted, not touching the case. Everything was plugged in correctly. I decided to unplug all the power connections and plug them back in to see if that would help, and the 8 pin connector near the CPU is stuck. Like, REALLY stuck. I can't unplug it. Could this be related? There is also a SATA hard drive plugged in and a DVD drive. All the internal headers are plugged in correctly. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is the first computer I've built from scratch. Oh, that 8 pin connector that is stuck is a 4+4 pin connector. Thanks

Hello,
If there is no light on the PSU and no lights on the board then it is most likely that power is not getting through the PSU, then it could be acouple of things check the PSU, and power cable and try changing the sockets being used.

Sometimes the plugs are a bit stubborn to get out try using a small screw driver to lift up on the retaining hook, be carefull not to break the motherboard. If the plug is not aligned correctly you may have shorted the MB and the p/s.
