Building A Spare Computer?

Hi there I am building up a bare bones computer just for the kids to play with on the net and stuff.....


I have everything working but the DVD ROM is not being seen..... I have tried to switch the position on the IDE cable with the CD Rom and still nothing but the CD gets seen everytime.....

It it a P3 500 w/ 256 meg RAM running WIN XP HOME.......


Any help would be apreciated.....thanx

Do you have the jumpers on the back of the units set correctly? The drive at the end of the ribbon is Master and the one on the middle connector is set to Slave. Another way is to have them both set to Cable Select
